Clinically, Kimberley specializes in trauma-informed care and neurodevelopmental conditions, including ADHD, Cognitive Disengagement Syndrome (CDS), OCD, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and complex emotional and behavioral profiles. She is the founder and CEO of The Misunderstood Child, a California-based practice and consulting platform dedicated to advancing early intervention, neurodiversity-affirming care, and family systems resilience.
A sought-after consultant and strategist, Kimberley has partnered with leading organizations and global brands to develop trusted parenting content, public health campaigns, and wellness initiatives. Grounded in both professional expertise and lived experience, Kimberley is a leading voice in destigmatizing mental health care for families. Her philanthropic commitment includes the Clayton Blaine Scholarship for Preschool Teachers at San Diego State University, supporting the next generation of early childhood educators.
She has taught Early Childhood Brain Development and Positive Discipline at UCLA Extension and has served as a consultant to the Children’s Center at Caltech and the Pasadena Office of the Young Child. For more than two decades, she has led social marketing and communications for early childhood mental health initiatives at The Children’s Institute, Inc., supported by grants from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the California Department of Mental Health.
