The Go-To Mom's Guide to Raising Cooperative and Social Savvy Children

The Go-To Mom’s mission is to give parents invaluable "hands on" information to help them become a more effective parent during challenging moments with their children. Parents seek out details and want directive tools that will help them better understand their child and their current situation.

A specialist in non-coercive, non-aggressive parenting, Kimberley is both an expert and mother of two boys. “I teach moms and dads the basics of parenting through relationship,” she explains “Most of us have been taught parenting through coercion which is not only ineffective but is damaging to a child. I advise parents to review how they were parented, so that they don’t repeat the same mistakes. From my perspective, parenting through relationship is not a strategy but a philosophy.”

In her up coming book, "The Go-To Mom's Guide to Raising Cooperative and Social Savvy Children," Kimberley believes that most parents want to parent differently than how they were raised. When you were a child, how many times did you tell your parents, “When I’m a dad, I’m never going to…” or, “I’m always going to let my son…” Of course, we are then surprised and dismayed to hear the words of our parents coming out of our mouths as we interact with our children. The Go-To Mom's Guide to Raising Cooperative and Social Savvy Children is a primer for parents who want to parent better than the way they were raised.

Despite good intentions and strong beliefs, today’s parents still rely on what is familiar, which means they engage in some of the outdated parenting techniques used by their parents. The Go-To Mom's Guide is a fresh and organic approach to parenting, that focuses on the relationship between you, as a parent, and your child(ren), rather than attempting to only outline strategies and techniques to manipulate child behavior.
