One of the first video bloggers I watched online was Kimberley/TheGoToMom. I was so impressed with her intro, music, and comfort level on video. I lurked her site for a while without ever leaving a comment. I watched and studied. I'm not near as amazing as she is, but I have improved and love to share what I've learned with others.

Here are five things I learned about vlogging from watching Kimberley's videos:

• Look right into the camera lens. Talk like a friend is listening.
• Use nice lighting, and especially make sure your face is lit.
• It's okay to have informal chats through the webcam and fancy produced videos on the same site. It shows you are an expert as well as a real person.
• Take your camera with you. You'll never know when you could get some good video clips.
• Make sure your url is in the video and the watchers know who you are.

Thank you Kimberley for all the fun videos! By the way, I did learn some things about parenting too.
